A Brief History of Exchange
Charles A. Berkey and 12 of his friends and associates first formed the Exchange Club in Detroit, Michigan on March 27, 1911 – over 90 years ago. Although the club officially acquired its name in 1911, the basis of the club was created as far back as 1896. The National Exchange Club is headquartered in Toledo, Ohio.
The Exchange Club of Springfield was chartered in 1921. Throughout our history we have made an impact on the organizations we support. We are a contributor to Osterlen Children Services, Shriners Children Hospitals, and The National Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Programs. Many other local agencies have also benefited from our club’s support. We invite you to be a part of our organization as we make a difference in the lives of those who need our care and support.
